HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — A student at South Broward High School in Hollywood was taken into custody Monday morning for causing a disruption at a school function, authorities said.

According to Hollywood police, officers responded to the school, located at 1901 N Federal Highway, following a “security concern” and cleared the campus as they investigated what occurred.
Police later confirmed that a student had been detained and all students and staff members were safe.

Police said a temporary lockdown at the school has been lifted and the school day is resuming as normal.
