Man critically injured in Miami Beach shooting

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Miami Beach police are investigating a shooting that injured a man early Friday morning.

According to police, the shooting was reported at 4:53 a.m. in the 6700 block of Collins Avenue.

Police said officers arrived at the scene and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Miami Beach Fire Department officials transported the victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.

“Due to the investigation, northbound traffic on Collins Ave. has been shut down at 67th Street and diverted west to Harding Ave. and Indian Creek Drive,” a spokesperson for the police department told Local 10 News.

No other details were immediately released.
