The incident happened around 10:26 p.m. on Saturday at Pine Channel Nature Park, located at 29550 Overseas Highway on Big Pine Key.
Deputies noted that the park was not open, as it had closed at 7:30 p.m.
According to authorities, a patrolling deputy observed the suspect, identified as Julie Graham, of Port Charlotte, Florida, “seated on a park bench with drug paraphernalia in plain view.”
Deputies said Graham refused to provide identification and attempted to walk away before pulling away and resisting, knocking off the deputy’s glasses, grabbing and striking him as he struggled to handcuff her.
