MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A 33-year-old mother arrested after her 6-year-old son allegedly shot himself in the shoulder with her gun bonded out of jail in Miami-Dade County, authorities said on Thursday.

Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies had arrested Myeisha Smith on Tuesday, and she faced a charge of child neglect with great bodily harm, records show.
Detectives reported that Smith took her wounded son from their home in West Perrine to Jackson South Medical Center, where he was transferred to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, and his condition was stable.

Court records show Smith posted a $2,500 bond and Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Ariel Rodriguez was set to preside over the case.
