LAUDERHILL, Fla. — Two men were killed and a suspect was arrested following a stabbing that police say occurred in Lauderhill Tuesday morning.

Lauderhill police said the incident happened around 11:15 a.m. in the 5300 block of Northwest 19th Street.
According to investigators, an officer was alerted by an individual who said a man attempted to attack him while armed with a knife.
Police said officers quickly located a person matching the suspect’s description, but the suspect fled on foot into a residential neighborhood near the 1700 block of Northwest 55th Avenue.
Officers said they quickly established a perimeter and began searching the area.
Police said they later received a 911 call from a passerby who reported that a man was lying on the ground after suffering from apparent stab wounds.

Police said while canvassing the area, they found a second man with apparent stab wounds.
They said one victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The second victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Investigators said the search continued with assistance from the Broward Sheriff’s Office and Sunrise Police Department. Lauderhill police said K-9 units eventually located the suspect, who was taken into custody without further incident.
No other details about the victims or suspect were immediately released.
