HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. — A man was arrested Thursday, exactly a month after he struck an elderly woman with his vehicle, causing her death, authorities said.

Online jail records show Jeffrey Lamar Eubanks, 52, faces charges of vehicular homicide, disobeying a red light and careless driving.
According to Hallandale Beach police, the crash occurred at about 11:40 p.m. on April 14 in the 1800 block of South Ocean Drive.
Detectives said Eubanks was driving northbound at about 65 mph in a 35 mph zone and then failed to stop at a red light before striking the victim, who was crossing the roadway in the marked crosswalk.

Police said Eubanks turned himself in on Thursday.
He appeared in court Friday morning and was ordered held on a $30,000 bond. The judge also ordered that if he posts bond, he is not allowed to leave the tri-county area and is not allowed to drive.
At the time of publishing, Eubanks was being held in the Broward County Main Jail.
