In a statement to Local 10 News, Castillo said:
“I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to be considered for such a prestigious position with the city of Doral. At the same time, I’m incredibly thankful to the city of Miami Springs and the Miami Springs Police Department for everything they’ve provided me throughout my career and for the trust they’ve placed in me over the years. This is a major professional and personal decision, so before making any final commitment, I need to have further discussions with my family. With that said, I’m very honored by the opportunity and I am leaning toward accepting the position.”
