Miami-Dade woman used dead doctor’s forged signature to get disabled parking placard, deputies say

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A Miami-Dade woman was successfully able to get a disabled parking placard using a doctor’s note ― but there was a big problem, deputies say: the doctor in question had died before he supposedly signed the paperwork.

They say that landed Lianne Quintero, 30, behind bars on two felony charges on Thursday.

As authorities crack down on fake permits, authorities said they uncovered evidence that Quintero had provided the note and paid $250 for a placard at the Kendall Auto Tag agency, located at 13710 SW 56th St., on May 21, 2025.

But the doctor who supposedly signed the note saying that Quintero had a “permanent disability that limits or impairs her ability to walk 200 feet without stopping to rest” had died on May 5, they said, “prior to the completion of fraudulent form.”

“The uncovered documents proved that the physician could not have completed the application for the defendants disabled person permit,” a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office arrest report states.

Additionally, deputies said the doctor’s purported signature on the parking placard application did not match the one on his driver’s license.

Authorities said went they went to Quintero’s home in the county’s rural Redland area, they told her they were there because of her placard, to which she replied, “I have a placard but do not use it.”

They said she then “voluntarily” gave up the placard and later admitted to the scheme, acknowledging that she is not disabled.

Deputies arrested Quintero on charges of providing a false statement on a handicapped permit application and uttering forged instruments.

As of Friday afternoon, records show she was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $2,500 bond.
