MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Five wildfires remained active on Monday in Miami-Dade County, according to state and federal authorities.

The air quality was moderate in western areas near Kendall and Homestead, according to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
The “Chipmunk” wildfire was the largest. It had burned more than 15,505 acres in Miami-Dade County, and it was 50% contained, according to the National Interagency Wildfire Enterprise’s geospatial portal.
The “Movie Dome” wildfire had burned more than 6,200 acres, and it was 60% contained.

The “22 (13)″ wildfire, which had burned 880 acres and was 40% contained, according to The Florida Forest Service’s wildfires response map. The FFS Everglades field unit was working the fire.
The “Vulture” wildfire had burned over 345 acres and was 80% contained.
The “Tower Point” fire burned three acres.
The “Radio Tower” wildfire burned 700 acres and was contained.
Shark Valley was set to reopen at 1 p.m. on Monday after temporarily closing on Sunday.
