OPA-LOCKA, Fla. — One person was injured when a car crashed into the side of a building in Opa-locka on Monday, first responders confirmed.

The crash was reported in the 13200 block of Northwest 32nd Avenue.
Sky 10 was above the scene just before 2 p.m. as a damaged Mustang convertible was towed away. A large hole was left behind in the building, along with debris from the wall and vehicle on the sidewalk.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials confirmed that one adult, the driver of the vehicle, was transported to Jackson North Medical Center.

According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, the building sustained “significant structural damage” and was subsequently deemed both unsafe and uninhabitable.
