Video shows response to deadly Boynton Beach helicopter crash

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — Authorities have released new video showing the moments after a fatal helicopter crash in Palm Beach County.

It happened on March 23 around 12:30 p.m. when a Robinson R44 helicopter crashed through the roof of a vacant warehouse located along the 3800 block of South Congress Avenue in Boynton Beach.

Authorities identified two victims in the crash as 28-year-old Alejandro Carrasco, a flight instructor from West Palm Beach, and 52-year-old Bryan Menna, a student pilot from Michigan.

Video shows first responders inside the warehouse as investigators looked for clues in the debris.

The tail of the helicopter that punched through the roof can be seen in the body camera video obtained exclusively by Local 10 News.

Data from the flight tracking site FlightAware.com shows the doomed flight was headed from downtown Fort Lauderdale and was supposed to land at a hospital in Boynton Beach, but never made it.
