Man assaults prostitute who refused ‘weird stuff’ during $1,300 Key West ‘fetish’ encounter: Cops

KEY WEST, Fla. — A Miami Gardens man is facing multiple criminal charges after police said he assaulted a prostitute during a four-figure “fetish-related” encounter at a Key West hotel.

According to police, the attack happened on Saturday at the Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites at 2400 N. Roosevelt Blvd. Authorities took the suspect, Michael Dorrell Parker, into custody early Monday morning.

According to the Key West Police Department, the victim came from Fort Myers after arranging the meeting with Parker, 52, who paid $1,300 for various “sexual and fetish-related activities,” including “allow(ing) him to lick the bottoms of her shoes” in his hotel room.

But a KWPD arrest report states that the victim told officers that Parker was becoming “increasingly upset” when she refused to do what she described as “weird stuff, illegal stuff” for him. The report doesn’t elaborate further on what those requests entailed.

“The victim stated that she attempted to leave the room, at which time (Parker) grabbed her by the neck and forcibly threw her onto the bed while continuing to apply pressure to her neck,” KWPD Officer Leonardo Hernandez wrote.

Police said the woman told them that Parker’s “actions restricted her airway and caused her to believe that she was going to die.”

“The victim stated that she attempted to defend herself by kicking (Parker) in the chest with her left leg in an effort to break free from his grasp,” Hernandez wrote. “The victim stated that she believed she may have injured (Parker) when she kicked him.”

According to the report, the woman said Parker eventually released her and was apologetic, saying “he was very sorry and that he had never done anything like that to anyone before.”

“The victim stated that because she was afraid for her life, she complied with (Parker’s) subsequent requests despite not wanting to participate in the sexual or fetish-related activities,” Hernandez wrote.

Police said Parker “corroborated the majority of the victim’s statements” but denied choking, “forcibly restraining or falsely imprisoning the victim.”

Hernandez wrote that he noticed a bruise on Parker’s chest consistent with being kicked.

According to the report, police arrested Parker on charges of aggravated battery, battery by strangulation, kidnapping and solicitation of prostitution.

As of Monday, he was being held in the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office’s Key West jail facility with no listed bond.
