Nearby businesses evacuated after gas leak in Davie

DAVIE, Fla. — Multiple businesses were evacuated in Davie Thursday morning due to a nearby gas leak, first responders confirmed to Local 10 News.

According to Davie Fire Rescue officials, the gas leak was reported in the area of 3501 Davie Road after a construction crew struck an underground gas line.

Surrounding businesses were evacuated as a precaution as Hazmat units responded.

First responders said Davie Road is currently closed between Southwest 35th Street and 39th Street as they work to mitigate the leak.
