Broward felon seen on video ‘kicking and stomping’ French bulldog, spraying it with hose: Police

SUNRISE, Fla. — A man is facing two aggravated animal cruelty charges after police said he was caught on camera “kicking and stomping” one of his girlfriend’s French bulldogs, along with spraying it with a hose, at her home in Sunrise.

An arrest warrant from the Sunrise Police Department states that officers were called to the 11600 block of Northwest 37th Place on Sept. 3 after receiving a report of animal abuse.

Authorities said they were provided surveillance footage from Sept. 2 and Sept. 3 showing Terell Dwayne Holloway, 41, of Lauderdale Lakes, kicking one of the French bulldogs about 10 times.

Police said he then grabbed the dog and “(threw) it into a corner,” before “spray(ing) the dog with a water hose.”

The warrant notes that French bulldogs are prone to respiratory issues and could have their breathing obstructed by an “excessive amount of water.”

Police said video from the next day shows Holloway “kicking and stomping” a dog about 24 times.

“During the incident, the dog can be heard yelping and attempting to escape,” the warrant states.

The video then shows Holloway grabbing the dog by its hind leg and kicking the animal “so hard that his shoe flies off” as he suspended the animal in the air, police wrote.

Authorities said they spoke to Holloway’s girlfriend, who said he regularly comes to her home to help her with her children and the dogs, named Zeus and Coco. Police said that she believed that Coco was the dog shown in the clips.

Holloway’s girlfriend, after being shown the video of both incidents, told investigators, “I had no idea he was doing that,” according to the warrant.

Sunrise police took Holloway into custody on Thursday. A judge ordered he be held on a $100,000 bond on Friday and ordered him to have no possession or ownership of any animals.

Florida Department of Corrections records show that Holloway has multiple felony convictions for burglary, fraud and trafficking in stolen property in Broward and Martin counties, for which he spent time in state prison.

As of Friday afternoon, Broward Sheriff’s Office records show he remained locked up on his latest charges in that agency’s Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale.
