Cody Gray, 34, of Maitland, was taken into custody after the ship ― which authorities did not identify in an arrest report ― returned to PortMiami on Saturday.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, Gray met the victim early Saturday morning at sea after she had had a drink at the club.
The report states that Gray gave the woman “three additional drinks” as they “socialized.”
Deputies said the victim told Gray that she did not want to have sex with him, but, while drunk, the two went back to Gray’s cabin, where authorities said he raped her.

“The victim was unconscious after the intercourse, when her parents were located and directed to (Gray’s) cabin,” the report states. “The victim advised the ship staff and her parents that she did not recall the details of what occurred inside (the) cabin but reiterated that she never consented to have any sexual activity with (Gray).”
Gray, appearing in bond court on Sunday, was ordered held without bond pending an additional hearing. In addition to the sexual battery charge, he also faces a charge of giving alcohol to a minor.
As of Monday, he was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
