Deputies said they responded shortly after 6 p.m. to the area of Northwest 145th Street and 11th Court after receiving a report of a woman being attacked by multiple dogs.
When deputies arrived, they found the woman being treated by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue medics. Deputies said they also saw multiple dogs in the front yard of a home.
As deputies attempted to close and secure a gate to contain the dogs, the animals tried to attack one of the deputies, according to MDSO officials. Authorities said a deputy then fired their service weapon, causing the dogs to retreat and flee in an unknown direction.
