Child rushed to hospital after being struck by car in Fort Lauderdale, first responders say

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A child was struck by a car Saturday in Fort Lauderdale and transported to a nearby hospital as a trauma alert, according to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue officials.

Officials said the crash was reported in the 500 block of Southwest 27th Avenue. They said the child was being taken to Broward Health Medical Center for further treatment.

Authorities had not immediately released the child’s age, gender, condition or additional details about how the crash occurred.
