Torrey Holston, 26, and Jose Garcia Romero, 27, are accused of killing Coral Springs firefighter Christopher Randazzo in 2019.

Attorneys delivered closing arguments in the case on Thursday morning.

The prosecution highlighted the night Randazzo, 39, was murdered while going out in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.

Police say Holston and Garcia Romero, then 19 and 20 respectively, robbed Randazzo of his phone, $55 and sneakers before shooting him in the head when he didn’t give them his phone password.

During their murder trial, an eyewitness testified it was Holston who shot the victim in the head when he was down on the ground.

Holston’s lawyer told jurors to pay attention to the evidence, and lack of evidence.

The two did not testify in their own defense.

Prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty, but the two defendants are facing mandatory life sentences if they are convicted.
