FORT LAUDERDALE BEACH, Fla. \u2014 Anthony Perryman and Thomas Cappelletti were among the U.S. military veterans who met for a walk on Memorial Day morning in Fort Lauderdale Beach. <\/p>\n

Perryman and Cappelletti said the ruck march, a walk while carrying weight on their backs, was their way to mourn fallen service members. <\/p>\n

\u201cFor vets especially, it\u2019s a day to take a little time to think,\u201d Cappelletti said. \u201cI recommend everybody does a little something just to show some support.\u201d<\/p>\n

The veterans walked together for three miles. The National Moment of Remembrance\u2019s tradition is a moment of silence at 3 p.m.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, I did have some soldiers and battle buddies who didn\u2019t make it today,\u201d said Perryman, who organized the walk. \u201cIt\u2019s just tough. It\u2019s just something to commemorate them.\u201d<\/p>\n
