One of my wife\u2019s friends doesn\u2019t know how to swim, so she helped her to shore.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That friend, 62-year-old Ruth Gutierrez, has since been discharged from the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Gutierrez returned to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital with her daughter Samantha Pe\u00f1a to visit her friends still recovering inside.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe said her injury is minor compared to the rest, her right arm, a part of her body, back and hair was burned as well, she thinks the hat she was wearing covered and saved her face,\u201d said Pe\u00f1a. \u201cHer whole body hurts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/southfloridamovingguides.com\/?p=101\">Tulsa Race Massacre reparations is soul-redeeming work for the US, Oklahoma civil rights lawyer says<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gutierrez credits her friend Paola with saving her life. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHer friend who is worse off than her helped her come back up to the boat,\u201d said Pe\u00f1a, adding that her mother mentioned that she smelled gasoline before the explosion. \u201cThe only thing she remembers is that they were singing happy birthday, she said about the smell, and then a couple of minutes after, everything exploded. She remembers that someone replied and said that was a normal thing but she doesn\u2019t know who was it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Added Scott: \u201cThey went to light a candle on the birthday cake and struck the match and then woo, it blew up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Seasoned boat captain Patrick Lee says he witnessed the explosion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA gasoline explosion is just, whoosh, quick and it is just terrible,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen we looked back out, we saw three people flying off the boat and a puff of smoke.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jackson Memorial Hospital staff are also caring for Adriana Rojas. <\/p>\n<p>Her husband Anthony Torres said she is suffering from severe burn injuries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know nine of them were submitted here, two of them got away without a scratch, which is a miracle and it is a miracle that no one was killed,\u201d he said. \u201cShe was screaming, \u2018Help me! Help me! I\u2019m burned! The boat blew up! Help me!
