{"id":151,"date":"2026-05-12T16:45:43","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T16:45:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southfloridamovingguides.com\/?p=151"},"modified":"2026-05-12T16:45:43","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T16:45:43","slug":"trump-nominates-david-cummins-to-head-the-tsa-after-a-rocky-period-for-the-agency-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southfloridamovingguides.com\/?p=151","title":{"rendered":"Trump nominates David Cummins to head the TSA after a rocky period for the agency"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>President Donald Trump on Monday nominated David Cummins to head the Transportation Security Administration \u2014 which has had a rocky few months as employees went without paychecks and security lines grew long at airports across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/southfloridamovingguides.com\/?p=150\">Feds accuse man of laundering millions in drug funds through South Florida firms<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cummins, who worked as a senior vice president at Serco, a government contractor that works with local and federal agencies, would take over a TSA bruised by the longest partial government shutdown in history which ended late last month.<\/p>\n<p>During periods of the shutdown, employees at the TSA, currently overseen by acting administrator Ha Nguyen McNeill, went without pay, thousands didn&#8217;t show up to work and hundreds quit entirely.
