{"id":3117,"date":"2026-06-25T07:35:25","date_gmt":"2026-06-25T07:35:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southfloridamovingguides.com\/?p=3117"},"modified":"2026-06-25T07:35:25","modified_gmt":"2026-06-25T07:35:25","slug":"bso-deputy-accused-of-fleeing-traffic-stop-resisting-arrest-in-miramar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southfloridamovingguides.com\/?p=3117","title":{"rendered":"BSO deputy accused of fleeing traffic stop, resisting arrest in Miramar"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>MIRAMAR, Fla.  \u2014 A Broward Sheriff\u2019s Office detention deputy was arrested earlier this week after Miramar police said he fled from officers during a traffic stop and later barricaded himself inside his apartment.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/southfloridamovingguides.com\/?p=3115\">Bond set for drunken driver who cops say had highlights off before killing retired cop in Davie<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Leer en espa\u00f1ol<\/p>\n<p>According to an arrest report, the suspect was identified as Pyram Gounot, 54, of Miramar. <\/p>\n<p>Jail records show he is facing two counts of resisting an officer without violence and is no longer in custody.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the incident began around 11:45 p.m. Sunday near the 12000 block of Saint Andrews Place, where an officer observed Gounot driving a Toyota pickup truck at a \u201chigh rate of speed\u201d and initiated a traffic stop.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators said Gounot exited the vehicle and ran from the officer on foot. They said he allegedly ran up a flight of stairs to the front door of his second-floor apartment.<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, after the officer ordered him to return downstairs to his vehicle, Gounot again fled, running up a different stairwell. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/southfloridamovingguides.com\/?p=3113\">Alanis Morrisette\u2019s Jagged Little Pill musical coming to Broward County<\/a><\/p>\n<p>While pursuing him, the officer fell while turning a corner, struck a concrete wall and suffered a cut to his head that required medical treatment, the report states. <\/p>\n<p>Police said Gounot then entered his apartment and refused to come outside.<\/p>\n<p>They said Gounot\u2019s daughter came out of a bedroom at the home and informed officers that her father is a BSO deputy.<\/p>\n<p>BSO\u2019s Public Corruption Unit was contacted and assisted with surveillance of Gounot, according to the report. <\/p>\n<p>Authorities said that later Monday morning, a woman drove him to the BSO Public Safety Complex in Fort Lauderdale, where he was taken into custody without incident.<\/p>\n<p>Police said Gounot declined to be interviewed.<\/p>\n<p>A BSO spokesperson told Local 10 News that Gounot has served as a detention deputy with the agency since March 11, 2002.
