MIAMI \u2014 Miami Heat fans continued to celebrate Wednesday just one day after the team landed Giannis Antetokounmpo in a blockbuster trade, bringing one of the NBA\u2019s biggest stars to South Florida.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was shocked. I was sleeping and then all my friends started texting me the news that we had got him,\u201d Heat fan Victor Paneque said.<\/p>\n

Known as the \u201cGreek Freak,\u201d Antetokounmpo is expected to bring star power and championship experience to a franchise looking to return to title contention.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was happy, grateful and also it\u2019s pretty cool to see it,\u201d said Heat fan Xavier Urbina.<\/p>\n

The trade sends the 31-year-old from Milwaukee to Miami, exchanging Wisconsin winters for South Florida sunshine and ending months of speculation about his future.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was great. I was waiting for it,\u201d Heat fan CC Bovee said. \u201cI did not want him to go to the Celtics because I do not like the Boston Celtics.\u201d<\/p>\n

For many Heat supporters, the acquisition represents a major step forward after several seasons of falling short of championship expectations.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiannis has the courage, the playmaker, defense, offense. A ring,\u201d Urbina said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m looking for Heat momentum, how we get better,\u201d added Alvani Urbina. \u201cThe past couple of years without LeBron (James), (Dwyane) Wade retiring, (Chris) Bosh retiring\u201d (have been tough). <\/p>\n

Bovee believes Antetokounmpo\u2019s style of play is a natural fit in Miami.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis style will definitely fit in the Heat culture,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

While Heat fans are celebrating, the move has left many Milwaukee supporters disappointed.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was so important to the city. I loved watching him play. I\u2019m sad. I\u2019m very sad,\u201d Bucks fan Cal Branger said.<\/p>\n

Branger and his wife, Isabelle, said they plan to continue cheering for Antetokounmpo despite the trade.<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, it kind of feels like a fever dream still,\u201d Isabelle Branger said. \u201cIt feels like I got dumped a little bit, but the last two years there were whispers.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s one of the most exciting players to watch,\u201d Cal Branger added. \u201cEvery time he goes to the basket or makes a great block. I would say enjoy him, please enjoy him.\u201d<\/p>\n
