Prosecutors previously alleged the child was tortured as part of what they believed was a scheme to defraud Medicaid.<\/p>\n<p>During Thursday\u2019s hearing, Broward Circuit Judge Peter Holden asked Moltimer whether she was under the influence before accepting her plea.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMiss Moltimer, I know you\u2019re in custody, but at this time are you under the influence of any drugs, alcohol or medication?\u201d Holden asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo judge,\u201d Moltimer replied.<\/p>\n<p>Moments later, Holden addressed one of the charges against her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCount 15 ma\u2019am, murder in the third degree felony, how do you wish to plead, guilty or no contest?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/southfloridamovingguides.com\/?p=335\">Concerned family searching for missing 18-year-old autistic man<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cGuilty,\u201d Moltimer responded softly.<\/p>\n<p>Moltimer was among several people arrested in 2024 in connection with the case, including the child\u2019s mother, Michelle Doe; the boy\u2019s adult brother; his grandfather; and a nurse. Investigators said Moltimer owned a Medicare provider company connected to the allegations.<\/p>\n<p>At one point during the hearing, the judge warned Moltimer about the severity of the possible punishment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf my math is correct, that\u2019s 65 years of prison in Florida state that you\u2019re looking at \u2014 do you understand that \u2014 it\u2019s maximum penalty,\u201d Holden said.<\/p>\n<p>The plea agreement means Moltimer will not face that maximum sentence in state prison.
