NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. \u2014 A 62-year-old man has died after he was shot in the parking lot of a Walmart in North Lauderdale on Tuesday, authorities announced Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The man was identified by the Broward Sheriff\u2019s Office as Bart Diguglielmo, of Lauderhill.<\/p>\n

According to BSO, the shooting was reported just before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of the Walmart, located at 7900 W. McNab Road.<\/p>\n

Deputies and North Lauderdale Fire Rescue medics responded to the scene and found Diguglielmo suffering from a gunshot wound, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Deputies said paramedics transported Diguglielmo to Broward Health Medical Center, where he died.<\/p>\n

Local 10 exclusively obtained video showing the moments that the fatal shooting occurred. <\/p>\n

According to BSO, Diguglielmo and a woman had gotten into an argument over a parking space prior to the shooting.<\/p>\n

Deputies said the woman remained at the scene after the shooting and claimed she shot Diguglielmo in self-defense.<\/p>\n

Detectives confirmed that the woman was detained for questioning and is cooperating in the investigation.<\/p>\n

The victim\u2019s daughter, who asked to be identified only as Amanda, was in tears as she described her father during a Zoom interview with Local 10 News, calling him a \u201cgood man\u201d who previously served in the military.<\/p>\n

She told Local 10\u2019s Rosh Lowe that nobody \u201cdeserves to lose their life over a parking spot.\u201d <\/p>\n

Amanda told Lowe that she was \u201chesitant to do the interview\u201d but said she wanted her dad \u201cto be remembered for who he was and not who the media is portraying him to be.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI heard one news site say it was over a parking spot,\u201d Amanda said. \u201cAnother says it was because my dad was making some type of advance towards the woman, which I will completely debunk because my dad is not that person. He\u2019s not perfect, but not someone that would do this to this extreme.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amanda said she had been estranged from her dad for many years, but they had recently been working on repairing their relationship. <\/p>\n

Detectives said upon the completion of the investigation, the case will be presented to the Broward County State Attorney\u2019s Office to determine whether criminal charges will be filed against the woman.<\/p>\n
