{"id":406,"date":"2026-05-16T04:06:22","date_gmt":"2026-05-16T04:06:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southfloridamovingguides.com\/?p=406"},"modified":"2026-05-16T04:06:22","modified_gmt":"2026-05-16T04:06:22","slug":"surveillance-video-witness-testimony-highlight-day-2-of-randazzo-murder-trial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southfloridamovingguides.com\/?p=406","title":{"rendered":"Surveillance video, witness testimony highlight day 2 of Randazzo murder trial"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. \u2014 Day two of the murder trial for two men accused in the killing of a Christopher Randazzo featured testimony from witnesses who said they heard gunfire the night the Coral Springs firefighter was killed, while prosecutors used surveillance video to lay out a timeline connecting the suspects to the area.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/southfloridamovingguides.com\/?p=404\">Evidence points to human remains at home linked to Kristin Smart\u2019s killing, sheriff says<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had heard the sound of a pop,\u201d said witness Cathy Byers, who was staying at the resort. \u201cIt sounded like it was just outside our room.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was like a snapping pop,\u201d witness Mark Terry testified.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI heard a pop and then a flash,\u201d said Tom Kinsloe, who lives across from the resort. \u201cIt sounded different than fireworks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors say the shooting took Randazzo\u2019s life nearly seven years ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI found an unresponsive male laying face down,\u201d testified Broward Sheriff\u2019s Office Deputy Lawrence Klkrman.<\/p>\n<p>Randazzo\u2019s body was found near the Southern Seas Resort in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea in October 2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur door was taped off,\u201d Byers testified. \u201cWe looked out the window to see what was going on. Investigators believe that\u2019s because prosecutors say Torrey Holston and Jose Romero were robbing Randazzo after shooting him in the back of the head, taking his iPhone, sneakers, wallet and keys.<\/p>\n<p>Jurors also reviewed surveillance footage recovered by Broward investigators showing Randazzo arriving at and later leaving a nearby bar the night he was killed.
