MIAMI \u2014 Hours after the Miami Marlins dropped the third game of a four-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies, 7-2 Sunday at loanDepot park during the team\u2019s 10-game, 10-day homestand, Craig Mish of Marlins.TV reported that the club is making a roster move. <\/p>\n

According to Mish, catcher Joe Mack, the Marlins\u2019 No. 4-ranked prospect, is being called up Monday, while catcher Agust\u00edn Ram\u00edrez is being optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville.<\/p>\n

Mack, 23, is \u201csomewhat of a one-dimensional hitter, but as long as he\u2019s tapping into his plus raw power from the left side of the plate and providing quality defense, that\u2019s fine,\u201d according to his MLB.com scouting report.<\/p>\n

In 24 games with the Jumbo Shrimp, Mack was hitting .244\/.388\/.378 with two doubles, three home runs and nine RBIs.<\/p>\n

The Marlins have not announced any roster moves as of Sunday evening.<\/p>\n

Ram\u00edrez, 24, who made his major league debut April 21, 2025, has struggled behind the plate in his first full season, including a 2-for-9 start with three strikeouts in May.<\/p>\n

Ram\u00edrez went 0-for-4 Sunday, slashing .230\/.318\/.345 in 35 games.<\/p>\n

According to MLB.com Marlins beat writer Christina De Nicola, during Ram\u00edrez\u2019s rookie season, he led all catchers with errors (10) and passed balls (19).<\/p>\n

Mack will join Liam Hicks, who has been very successful behind the plate early this season, on the team\u2019s 26-man active roster.<\/p>\n

Entering Monday\u2019s series finale at 6:40 p.m. ET, Hicks leads the team with seven home runs and 29 RBIs.<\/p>\n
