{"id":715,"date":"2026-05-20T07:04:24","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T07:04:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southfloridamovingguides.com\/?p=715"},"modified":"2026-05-20T07:04:24","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T07:04:24","slug":"woman-testifies-that-suspect-boasted-about-killing-coral-springs-firefighter-was-smiling-about-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southfloridamovingguides.com\/?p=715","title":{"rendered":"Woman testifies that suspect boasted about killing Coral Springs firefighter: \u2018Was smiling about it\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.  \u2014 The murder trial for two men accused of killing a Coral Springs firefighter continued on Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/southfloridamovingguides.com\/?p=713\">San Diego mosque shooters met online and left writings expressing hate, FBI says<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Leer en espa\u00f1ol<\/p>\n<p>Christopher Randazzo was 39 years old when he was shot and killed in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Charged in his killing are Torrey Holston, 26, and Jose Romero, 27.<\/p>\n<p>The defendants sat next to their lawyers as witnesses took the stand, including the ex-girlfriend of Marco Rico, who previously pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact and conspiracy charges. <\/p>\n<p>That woman, Cheyenne Papach, testified that on the night of the murder, she and the three men went to the Aruba Beach Cafe in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. <\/p>\n<p>She testified that while she was having sex with Rico, Holston and Romero robbed Randazzo. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know Jose and Torrey were walking the streets while Marco and I were on the beach,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<p>Papach said Holston had a gun that night, and when the four got back into the car, she says Holston and Romero robbed someone of his shoes and his iPhone. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/southfloridamovingguides.com\/?p=711\">Badly malnourished dog found in Fort Lauderdale showing signs of recovery<\/a><\/p>\n<p>But the phone was locked, and she claims the men wanted to turn around and head back to Randazzo for the password. <\/p>\n<p>When they arrived, she said Randazzo was lying on the ground.<\/p>\n<p>Papach says she watched the two yelling at Randazzo, who was not fully coherent, and that it was Holston who fired the gun. <\/p>\n<p>She went on to testify that Holston seemed pleased over the murder, even boasting about it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c(He said) \u2019I can\u2019t believe I caught a body\u2019 and he was smiling about it,\u201d she testified.<\/p>\n<p>Defense attorneys questioned Papach about her drug use, and recollection of the night.
