Miami-Dade teen makes history as world’s youngest male professor

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — An 18-year-old Miami Dade College professor is making history as the youngest male professor recorded by Guinness World Records.

Nathan Thomas, who is younger than many of his students, teaches engineering courses online at Miami Dade College.

Thomas began taking classes at Miami Dade College when he was just 10 years old and earned his associate degree at 14.

“If you go to school earlier, don’t get influenced by other people’s decisions or paths because it’s different from yours,” Thomas said.

Thomas later earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering before returning to Miami Dade College to teach.

He is now entering his second year of law school.
