FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Wild scenes unfolded on the water in Fort Lauderdale early Saturday morning after police say a man allegedly driving a boat under the influence crashed into other boats at Bahia Mar Dock.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. after Fort Lauderdale police received a call about a drunk boater crashing into other boats.
Video captured witnesses watching as the boat eventually became tied up to a portion of the dock. In the video, one of the men appears to point a gun at the boater.
It’s not clear how many boats the man crashed into.
Video also shows damage to the boat he was driving, including shattered glass and portions of the hull torn apart.

In another clip, people on board can be seen sitting while everyone involved waits for police to arrive.
Fort Lauderdale police’s DUI officer was part of the investigation.
Police identified the man as Michael Bender and said he was charged with boating under the influence.
However, Bender is not in custody. Police used a not-in-custody probable cause filing and are awaiting toxicology results to determine his blood alcohol level.
