MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Alina Garcia, Miami-Dade County’s supervisor of elections, reported that the Florida primary’s voter turnout increased from 12.5% on Tuesday morning to 15.5% on Tuesday afternoon.

Four civil rights attorneys from the U.S. Department of Justice were monitoring the polls during the primary elections in Miami-Dade County.
“We are very confident that everything is going to be just fine,” Garcia said.
Miami-Dade County has 772 precincts. The Florida Division of Elections reported that 69,241 voters had cast their ballots as of 6:30 p.m. in Miami-Dade.

The polls opened at 7 a.m. and were set to close at 7 p.m.
Miami-Dade County has more than 1.28 million registered voters, including about 455,470 Republicans and 407,910 Democrats, according to .
