That means the heat index could be at or above 110° for two consecutive hours or more. This is the first Extreme Heat Warning of the season for South Florida.
During this weather, you must stay hydrated, stay in the shade or the air conditioning, or indoors as much as possible. Watch for signs of heat stress, which include feeling faint or dizzy and consider calling 911 for immediate help if your symptoms worsen.
