Final auditions heat up as dancers compete for Miami Heat roster spots

MIAMI — Thursday was nothing short of intense.

High energy, precise choreography and relentless athleticism were on display as more than three dozen dancers brought the heat on the court, hoping to walk away as a Miami Heat Dancer.

Inside the arena, decades of tradition were on the line as the final round of auditions for the Miami Heat Dancers, presented by AT&T, took place at Kaseya Center.

Out of hundreds of dancers who lined up for open calls, only 33 made it through the rigorous weeklong boot camp.

By the end of the night, 20 would walk away victorious.

The judges weren’t just looking for sharp moves.

With limited spots available on the official roster, the competition was fierce and the pressure was high, even for returning dancers.

For these dancers, the final audition represented years of training condensed into a single performance.

By the end of the evening, a dream would become reality for the newest members of the Miami Heat family.
