ALLAPATTAH, Fla. — Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office detectives who work with a task force that focuses on internet crimes against children responded to Carlos Gutierrez’s apartment on Thursday at the Oak Plaza tower in Miami’s Allapattah area, records show.

Gutierrez, 32, had images showing the sex abuse of both boys and girls who appeared to be as young as 4 years old and as old as 8 years old, according to the MDSO detective’s arrest report.
Gutierrez “stated he created a Google account with the intent of obtaining content for pleasure,” and added that he focused on the images of child sex abuse “out of curiosity,” a detective wrote, according to the arrest report.
Gutierrez, who works as a barber, told detectives that he was able to get the images from a chat group on WhatsApp, according to the arrest report.

Gutierrez told detectives that he deleted the images after “he received a notification from Google that his account was flagged and shut down,” according to the arrest report.
Deputies arrested Gutierrez at 10:40 a.m. on Thursday at the apartment, according to the report. Corrections booked him at 4:05 p.m. at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, according to inmate records.
Gutierrez faced six counts of possession of images depicting the sexual performance by a child. His bond was $45,000.

Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Jason Bloch was set to preside over the case.
