21-year-old charged after starting fight at Chuck E. Cheese with underage teen who fathered child with his ex

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — A 21-year-old Pompano Beach man is facing a child abuse charge after getting into a fight with an underage teenager.

The incident occurred around 6 p.m. Saturday inside the Chuck E. Cheese located at 2201 N. Federal Hwy.

According to an arrest form, the victim was working inside the establishment when the suspect, identified as Vincent Evans, came inside with another woman.

Deputies said Evans approached the victim from behind and dragged him down before the two started fighting, after which Evans and the woman he was with fled the scene.

According to officials, the entire ordeal was captured on surveillance footage.

Additionally, investigators said the victim is the boyfriend of Evans’ ex-girlfriend, who is the mother a child shared with Evans, and that she is currently pregnant with a child belonging to the victim.

Deputies said they took Evans into custody shortly after midnight, later that evening in Fort Lauderdale.

He is facing a charge of child abuse without great bodily harm and as of Monday evening was being held at the Broward Main Jail on a $1,000 bond.
