Child injured after being hit by car in Oakland Park

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. — A child was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle on Tuesday in Broward County.

It happened at approximately 5:50 p.m. near the 2900 block of Northwest 17th Terrace in Oakland Park.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene after receiving reports of a vehicle striking a child.

Oakland Park Fire Rescue crews rushed the child to a nearby hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening, authorities said.

Deputies said the driver of the vehicle that struck the child remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Authorities have not said whether that driver will be facing any charges.
