BSO: Man threatens to kill couple eating at McDonald’s in Oakland Park

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. — A 29-year-old Broward County man was arrested after allegedly threatening a couple inside a fast food restaurant.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. Saturday at the McDonald’s located at 265 W. Oakland Park Blvd. in Oakland Park.

According to deputies, the victim and her boyfriend were inside the McDonald’s when she told investigators that the suspect, identified as Jerimiah Williams, continued to look at her because “she believed that he was trying to flirt or cause a rise” out of the couple.

That’s when the victim said Williams got up from the table he was seated at and tried signaling the victim to follow him as he walked toward the bathroom, and when she did not, deputies said Williams then went to the couple and brushed up against the victim before telling her, “You’re going to die and I’m going to shoot your boyfriend,” according to an arrest report.

Deputies said Williams then walked outside the McDonald’s and put down his backpack, which was described by authorities as a “military style digital camo backpack,” reached inside and showed the victims what they believed to be a black pistol.

When the victims called 911, deputies said Williams took off running down Oakland Park Boulevard, but they were able to bring him into custody a short distance away.

It was noted in his arrest repot that deputies did not find a gun after searching Williams.

He is now facing two charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and a charge of battery. As of Monday night, Williams was being held at the Broward Main Jail on a $5,500 bond.
