Hialeah men accused of stealing over $30K in Target’s LEGO toys face new Publix theft case in Pembroke Pines

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. — Police officers recently accused a convicted felon on probation and his accomplice — both already facing charges over thefts in Miami-Dade and Broward counties — of stealing about $735 worth of meat in Pembroke Pines.

A surveillance video shows Josuan Delgado and Brian Lores stealing at 12:15 p.m. on Aug. 26, from the Publix Supermarket at 1657 North Hiatus Road, according to the Pembroke Pines Police Department.

Surveillance videos also showed Delgado and Lores, both 23, stealing about $30,660 worth of LEGO toys from several Target stores in Broward and Miami-Dade counties, according to law enforcement.

Inmate records show Miami-Dade corrections had been holding Delgado, a felon with 2025 convictions, and Lores since Sept. 10. They were both at the Metrowest Detention Center on Monday afternoon.

MIAMI-DADE CASES

There were three cases in August and three in September in Miami, Miami Lakes, Westchester, Aventura, and Kendall West. These involved more than $15,250 of stolen LEGO toys, according to Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies.

Deputies accused Lores and Delgado of stealing about $2,660 in toys on Aug. 5 at 7795 SW 40 St., in Westchester, and returning to steal about $3,070 in toys on Aug. 16 from the same store.

Lores and Delgado stole about $1,170 in toys on Aug. 19 at 15005 SW 88 St., in Kendall West, and about $4,090 on Sept. 6, at 5601 NW 183 St., in Miami Lakes, according to MDSO deputies.

Lores and Delgado stole about $3,760 in toys on Sept. 9 at 21265 Biscayne Boulevard in Aventura, according to a deputy’s arrest report.

Miami police officers accused Lores and Delgado of stealing about $3,290 in toys on Sept. 4 at 3825 NW Seventh St., near the West Flagler area.

MIAMI-DADE CHARGES

As of Monday, Miami-Dade prosecutors had filed three felony cases against Lores and two felony cases against Delgado, also known as Josuan Delagdogordillo, records show.

On Sept. 11, prosecutors filed third-degree grand theft charges against Lores and Delgado in the Sept. 4 case with MPD, and retail theft charges against both in the Aug. 6 case with MDSO.

On Sept. 18, prosecutors filed a third-degree grand theft charge against Lores in a case with MDSO.

Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Carmen Cabarga was set to preside over the new cases.

MIAMI-DADE CONVICTIONS

Last year, Delgado had two cases with the Hialeah Police Department and the MDSO.

In the MDSO case, Delgado was convicted of fleeing and eluding police felony, a reckless driving misdemeanor, and a tag misdemeanor charge.

In the HPD case, Delgado was convicted of a felony charge of uttering a forged instrument.

In both cases, Cabarga sentenced Delgado to a two-year probation that was supposed to end on Oct. 22, 2027.
