1 hospitalized, police investigation underway in Miami Gardens

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — One person was hospitalized Tuesday morning and now a police investigation is underway in Miami Gardens, first responders confirmed to Local 10 News.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials confirmed that they transported one person to a trauma center following some kind of incident in the 17300 block of Northwest 36th Avenue.

Local 10’s Jackie Pascale was at the scene later in the morning and said neighbors in the area told her they heard the sound of multiple gunshots and were told that one person had been injured in the shooting.

That person’s condition has not yet been released.

The fire department deferred to the Miami Gardens Police Department for further details, saying the incident is a “police matter.”

Local 10 News has reached out to the police department for more information and is awaiting a response.
