Miami Hurricanes football releases game theme schedule for 2026 home slate

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — The Miami Hurricanes football program begins a new chapter under quarterback Darian Mensah with a season-opening matchup at Stanford on Sept. 4 at 9 p.m. ET.

On Tuesday, the Hurricanes announced the game themes for each of their seven home games at Hard Rock Stadium.

Sept. 10 vs. Florida A&M (8 p.m.): Home Opener

The Hurricanes should roll to a 2-0 start for the fifth consecutive season when they open their home schedule against the Rattlers.

Sept. 26 vs. Central Michigan (6:30 p.m.): UHealth Cancer Awareness Game, Family Weekend, and 1991 National Championship Celebration

UHealth partners with the Hurricanes for its annual Cancer Awareness Game, and fans can expect to see plenty of pink throughout the field and Hard Rock Stadium. The university also will welcome students and their families as part of Family Weekend festivities. Additionally, Miami will honor its undefeated 1991 national championship team on the 35th anniversary of its 12-0 season, which came during the program’s time in the Big East Conference.

Oct. 17 vs. Florida State, Presented by City National Bank: ORANGEOUT!

The university is asking fans and students to wear orange as the Hurricanes host rival Florida State. Last season, Miami’s Orange Out game took place in the season opener against Notre Dame.

Oct. 24 vs. Pittsburgh, Presented by Estrella: 2001 National Championship Celebration

Miami will honor its famed 2001 national championship team, marking 25 years since its dominant 12-0 season and national title under head coach Larry Coker.

Nov. 14 vs. Duke, Presented by The Islands of the Bahamas: Homecoming

Duke, Mensah’s former school, will visit Hard Rock Stadium, where the program is inviting former Hurricanes from all eras back to campus for Homecoming Weekend.

Nov. 21 vs. Virginia Tech, Presented by Boost Mobile: Salute to Service

In honor of National Veterans and Military Families Month, the school says it will host a “Salute to Service” game featuring festivities inside and outside Hard Rock Stadium that recognize veterans and pay tribute to those who serve and those in training to serve. The team is expected to wear special uniform tops and pants for the game.

Nov. 28 vs. Boston College: Canes 4 Life Day (Senior Day):

Miami will close out its home schedule and regular season slate by honoring its 2026 senior class.
