According to Miami-Dade Animal Services, Louie arrived at the shelter in February along with several other dogs that had been living together in overcrowded conditions.
Staff members describe the 2 to 3-year-old mixed-breed dog as sweet, affectionate and easygoing around both people and other animals.
Shelter workers say Louie enjoys attention — especially belly and back scratches — and has earned positive reviews for his calm demeanor while waiting for adoption.

Miami-Dade Animal Services, Broward County Animal Care, the Humane Society of Broward County and the Humane Society of Greater Miami will participate in the event, where adoption fees are expected to be waived.
