MDSO motorcycle deputy hurt in crash in southwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office motorcycle deputy was hurt in a crash Saturday afternoon in southwest Miami-Dade, authorities confirmed.

According to MDSO officials, the crash happened just after noon at the intersection of Southwest 248th Street and Southwest 112th Avenue, in the county’s Princeton area.

A preliminary investigation revealed the deputy was turning westbound onto Southwest 248th Street and encountered debris in the middle of the roadway, causing him to lose control of the motorcycle, according to authorities.

Investigators said the deputy, who has not yet been identified, was transported in stable condition to a nearby hospital for treatment.
