Brush fire causes closure of U.S. 1 heading in, out of Florida Keys

FLORIDA CITY, Fla. — Officials in Miami-Dade County closed a popular roadway due to a brush fire.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue ordered U.S. 1 shut down in both directions in Florida City.

Vehicles could be seen backed up heading north on the 18-mile stretch leaving the Florida Keys.

Crews have been diverting all traffic to Krome Avenue.

Traffic is expected to be impacted heading in both directions due to the closure.
