Police identify suspect who ran off after crashing outside Pembroke Pines Dunkin’

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. — Authorities have identified the man who they arrested on Wednesday afternoon following a crash in Pembroke Pines.

According to the Pembroke Pines Police Department, Irving Steele, 33, was behind the wheel of a vehicle that crashed near a Dunkin’ at 9801 Pines Blvd.

Police said Steele took off after the crash, but officers were able to take him into custody following a brief chase.

He is now facing charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving damage, fleeing or eluding, driving with a suspended license and resisting or obstructing an officer without violence.

As of Thursday morning, Steele remained behind bars at the Broward Main Jail.
