Fans were out late celebrating the win, many saying this felt like years of growth finally paying off.
“Now we finally get to say we’re champions,” said fan Kevin Gonzalez. “It means a lot.”
Right after the match, championship shirts were already being sold outside the stadium.
“We knew they were going to win. We were confident,” said fan Sergio. “I remember coming to games where they couldn’t give the tickets away and look at it now.”
The arrival of international soccer superstar Lionel Messi is widely seen as one of the biggest reasons this team has grown so quickly.

“We’ve basically become a soccer city overnight,” said Sergio.
Outside the stadium, you couldn’t miss the number of Messi jerseys, along with signs, flags, and even a huge inflatable of the soccer star.
Inter Miami was founded in 2018, and in just seven years, has built a huge fan base and become one of the top teams in the league.
For many longtime supporters, this championship feels like everything finally coming together.
“It was emotional,” said fan Helen Bennett. “They reached the goal they’ve been waiting for.”
