Puppies, adult dogs looking for forever homes through Humane Society of Broward County

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla — Two 9-week-old puppies are among the many dogs looking for homes at the Humane Society of Broward County.

Roxy and Rusty are part of a litter of several puppies and are already showing plenty of personality. Shelter officials say the puppies will need families ready to spend time training them, exercising them and giving them plenty of attention.

The shelter also has Mia, an adult dog whose owner died and whose family could not keep her. Staff say Mia loves people, appears to get along with other dogs and enjoys playing with squeaky toys.

HSBC’s Cherie Wachter says there are about 20 puppies available for adoption.

The shelter is at 2070 Griffin Road, a block west of Interstate 95. Adoption kennels open at 11 a.m.

Prospective adopters can also complete a pre-adoption application online at humanebroward.com.
