BSO deputy facing charges stemming from domestic incident in Miramar

MIRAMAR, Fla. — A deputy with the Broward Sheriff’s Office is facing charges stemming from a domestic incident.

Officials said BSO deputy Isaiah Williams was taken into custody on Monday.

According to the Miramar Police Department, officers responded to an apartment complex along the 11000 block of Southwest 45th Court at approximately 2:05 a.m. Monday after receiving reports of a domestic battery.

Officers said that Williams had already left the scene when they arrived.

After detectives arrived and investigated the incident, police said an arrest warrant was completed for Williams.

Later Monday, Williams surrendered himself to police, according to Miramar PD.

He is facing charges of simple battery, domestic battery by strangulation, robbery by sudden snatching with a firearm and tampering/altering evidence.

In a statement, BSO told Local 10 News that Williams was placed on administrative investigative leave without pay as a result of his arrest.

Authorities did not provide any additional information regarding the circumstances that led to Williams’ charges.

As of Monday evening, Williams was being held at the Broward Main Jail. He is expected to appear before a judge sometime Tuesday.
