Reward offered for information after man found dead on Pompano Beach swale

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s help after a man was found dead on a grassy swale in Pompano Beach.

According to BSO, deputies responded to the 700 block of Southwest 10th Drive near Fairview Park shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday after receiving a report of a person lying in the grass.

Pompano Beach Fire Rescue personnel also responded and pronounced the victim, identified as Lacurtis Knight, dead at the scene.

According to BSO Traffic Homicide Investigations detectives, Knight’s injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle.

Investigators conducted a detailed search of the area where the victim was discovered and said the crash may have happened at a different location.

Detectives are now asking anyone who may have information about the traffic homicide to come forward.
