MIAMI — Five people are dead and five others are injured following a plane crash at Miami International Airport Sunday afternoon.

The five injured, including the pilots, were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital and Jackson South. Three of the patients are in critical condition.
The Boeing 767 Amazon cargo plane overshot the runway and crashed into parked cars in a nearby lot.
Photos from the lot show mangled cars, some upside down, with debris scattered throughout. One photo shows a large white van crushed behind the plane.

Several victims were trapped in their cars, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
The details of the victims’ injuries were not immediately known, other than that they were in critical condition.
There was also a search and rescue operation for the two pilots who were trapped inside the plane, according to officials.
The crash remains under investigation. Officials have been asked for an update on the victims’ conditions.
