Eisenberg said the smoke detector alarms in the house went off. She followed the smell to the home’s three-car garage.
“I opened the garage; I just saw smoke everywhere,” Eisenberg said. “I slammed it shut, and we ran out the front door.”
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue personnel responded to the Eisenberg’s house in the Meadows, a gated community in Weston.
Eisenberg’s neighbors along Crestview Circle, near Greenwood Road, said they called 911 after they heard a “Boom!” and saw a cloud of smoke rising.

“I see all the fire trucks and stuff coming, and then I come around, and I see them pulling the cars out of the driveway,” Joe Rispoli, a neighbor, said.
According toBSFR Battalion Chief Michael Kane, the fire “potentially” started in a parked car. No one was injured. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
